Introduction

During the Covid-19 pandemic travel rules and restrictions become very confusing. We want to set out as simply as possible what our golfers coming to Benidorm from the UK need to do and be aware of when booking a Benidorm golf holiday. The information below will assist you when making a decision to book your golf holiday with us. The following information is for travel purposes relating to tourism.

Spanish Government rules

To enter Spain you are no longer required to complete a passenger locator form (SPTH) if you are fully vaccinated or have recovered from Covid-19 more than 11 days ago and less than 180 days ago. To prove either full vaccination or recovery status you are required to present your Covid vaccination digital certificate or digital recovery certificate available on the NHS app or equivalent in the devolved nations.

You are classed as fully vaccinated as long as you have received your second dose of a 2 dose vaccine or your first dose of a single dose vaccine no longer than 270 days ago (9 months). If your last dose was greater than 270 days ago then you need to have had a booster jab more than 14 days before you travel to be able to enter Spain.

UK Government rules

To enter the UK you do not need to take any COVID-19 tests or fill in a passenger locator form. This applies whether you are fully vaccinated or not.

Summary of requirements

Based on the status of the Spanish and British government rules the following requirements apply when you enter Spain and return back to the UK

Covid Requirements to go to Spain update 17th May 2022 v2

Step 1 - Pre departure from UK to Spain - Coming to Spain

Ensure you have the documentation as described above showing vaccination status or recovery from Covid in the last 6 months. Check the validity of your document on the EU Digital Certificate Validator

Step 2 - Pre departure from Spain to UK - Going home

All Covid restrictions are now removed to enter the UK.

Tests required after arriving back in the UK

Testing is no longer required

Holiday Insurance

A lot of our customers have asked us what happens if you test positive for Covid when on holiday in Benidorm. The reality is you should not board your return flight home. Therefore you should book an extended stay in Benidorm and isolate yourself. This comes with associated costs which most holiday insurers are now covering. We strongly recommend you get a policy that covers this exact situation. Our advice if you do test positive is to contact your airline to find out when they will allow you to fly after testing positive.
